The PARC Group, master developer for the Town of Nocatee, has selected Edwards Construction Services as the contractor for the Nocatee Water Park and Community Center complex, the central amenities of the Nocatee Community Park. Edwards is scheduled to begin construction on the water park and community center in January 2008.“Parks and recreation are design cornerstones for the Town of Nocatee,” said Richard T. Ray, a partner with The PARC Group. “We look forward to working with Edwards Construction to bring our vision to life.”
Edwards Construction Services was founded in 1979, and in 2006 completed over $90 million in commercial and industrial work. Recent projects include the Stonecreek Resort Pool, Grand Hampton recreation facility and Palencia Clubhouse and swim and fitness facility.
The Nocatee Water Park and Community Center Complex, a one-of-a-kind, resort-style amenities center, will be the largest in northeast Florida. It will offer cabana comforts for shade, concession stands, rambling lawns and green spaces, party pavilions and six separate pools for families and adults; a junior Olympic competition pool, a water spray ground for children, a family lagoon with two high-speed water slides, a toddler pool, a private adult pool and a “lazy river” for a leisurely ride in a gentle current around cascading waterfalls and a whirlpool. Edwards will also build the two amenity centers adjacent to the water park; the Nocatee Community Center and the Nocatee Fitness Center. The Community Center will offer a variety of facilities for residents including a second story banquet hall for weddings and other special occasions.
The Nocatee Community Park will be an interconnected enclave of passive and active recreational activities, offering a unique setting for families, friends and individuals to relax, work out, play and celebrate. The Community Park will also feature a dog park, three separate lakes, a multipurpose trail and multiple ball fields served by a field house and concession stand.
“Nocatee has been designed so that every home will be within walking distance of a neighborhood park, and no more than a bike ride or short car ride to the water park. This convenience is an essential element of the Town of Nocatee lifestyle, and we look forward to introducing these truly unique amenities to our residents,” said Ray.
The Nocatee Community Park, including the Water Park and Community Center, are scheduled for completion in the summer of 2009.
The Town of Nocatee is a master-planned “new town” that will provide a wide variety of residential lifestyles, employment opportunities, shopping, schools, civic uses and recreation.
